The Moon in Scorpio
The Moon is in its fall in Scorpio, and crosses it in about two and a half days each month. This page says what the tradition makes of that, and gives the exact local times of the next six crossings.

In a birth chart
Deep feeling, rarely shown, and a very long memory.
Leo gives this Moon a firm and self reliant character: someone able to stand alone and fight their own battles, plain spoken to the point of bluntness, energetic, capable of hard work and still fond of comfort.
He adds the difficult side without softening it. This Moon is conservative and resists change pushed on it from outside, is hard to influence and can be obstinate, and when it does move it can move in one sweep, carrying through a change that looks revolutionary from the outside. Anger and resentment have a long memory here.
The doctrine of dignities, standard in Western astrology since the Hellenistic period
Where the tradition places it
The tradition calls this the Moon's fall.
Each planet has signs where the tradition considers it strong and signs where it considers it weak. The Moon rules Cancer and is exalted in Taurus; in Capricorn it is in detriment, and here it is in fall. Fall does not mean bad luck. It means the sign asks of the Moon something that is not its nature: the Moon holds and soothes, and this sign holds and probes.
"In Scorpio the Moon falls and its influence fades out."
Alice Bailey, Esoteric Astrology, 1951. In her system the Moon stands for the form and the past, so a sign of crisis and regeneration is where that hold is meant to weaken. Short quotation, still in copyright.

What these days are used for
Finishing, clearing out, and looking straight at a thing.
- WaterHeldWater holds. The tradition gives these days to feeling, memory and what is not said, and to anything that has to be finished rather than begun.
- FixedHoldingA fixed sign sits in the middle of a season, so the days are read as holding: the impulse is to keep what is already there.
The tradition gives these days to research and to difficult conversations, and Russian lunar calendars mark the Scorpio days as poor for cutting and grafting in the garden and good for whatever is meant to be preserved.
This is tradition and habit, not a measured effect. It is here because it is what the sources say, and each part carries the name of the source it came from.

Questions people ask
How long is the Moon in Scorpio?
About two and a half days each month. The exact length changes a little because the Moon's speed changes, and the table above gives the real figure for each crossing.
Is a Scorpio Moon the same as being a Scorpio?
No. A Scorpio Sun means the Sun was in Scorpio at your birth, which is late October to late November. A Scorpio Moon can happen in any month of the year.
Does the Moon sign depend on where I was born?
The sign itself is the same everywhere at the same moment, because it is measured from the centre of the Earth. What changes with your place is the local clock time it starts and ends, which is exactly what decides your sign if you were born near a crossing.
Positions and times are calculated in your browser with an open astronomy library and match published ephemerides to the minute. The birth chart reading is written from Alan Leo, Astrology for All, 1899, which is in the public domain. The short quotation from Alice Bailey, Esoteric Astrology, 1951, is used as a quotation and remains in copyright. The dignities and the doctrine of the elements are standard traditional astrology. Tradition is labelled as tradition throughout, and the sources page sets out what is calculated and what is not.
