Privacy
This site has no account system and no server that stores anything about you. It counts visits with Google Analytics, and in Europe only if you say yes. Nothing you type or choose here is part of that count.

- Every position, time and lunar day computed from them
- Google Analytics, which counts page visits
- The web fonts, loaded from Google Fonts
- The astronomy and animation libraries, loaded from a public code network
- Your own internet provider, which sees that you visited, as with any site
Guessed first, and only precise if you ask for it
Location
The site needs a place, because moonrise and the lunar day depend on it.
By default it guesses from the time zone your browser already reports, which is not a precise location and is not sent anywhere. If you press the button that asks for your exact position, your browser asks your permission first, the coordinates are used in the page to pick the nearest city, and they are not stored or transmitted. Changing the city by hand avoids the question entirely.

Birth data
What you type into the Moon sign page stays in the page.
It is used to compute the position of the Moon at that moment and then it is gone when you close the tab. There is no database here to put it in, and nothing is sent anywhere. That is not a promise of good intentions; it is a consequence of the site having no server to send it to.

Cookies and visit counting
Visits are counted with Google Analytics. There is no advertising.
Google Analytics sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_L3W54XV5P9, so that a return visit is not counted as a new visitor. They expire after two years. The count records which pages were opened, the page that sent you here, the type of device, and roughly where the visit came from, which Google works out from your internet address. It does not record the city you choose in the calendar, your precise location, or any birth data you type.
In Europe a banner asks first, and Google's code is not loaded until you press Accept. As a second safeguard, Google itself sets no cookie for visitors from the European Union, the United Kingdom and Switzerland until they accept. Elsewhere, counting starts when the page opens.
Your answer to the banner is kept in your browser, so the banner does not come back. To change it, use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. Declining also deletes the Analytics cookies.
There is no advertising on any page. If advertising is ever added, this page will say so before it appears, will name the provider, and will explain exactly what that provider does.

Children, and your rights
This site is not directed at children and asks nobody for personal details. The visit counts described above are held by Google, not by this site, and are not tied to a name or an email address. To stop them, decline on the banner or block cookies in your browser.
If this ever changes, the change will be described here in the same plain words, with the date it took effect.
