Alan Leo, writing in 1899, gives this Moon an impulsive and militant manner, sometimes irritable and liable to fits of anger. It insists on having its own way, is disobedient to superiors, independent and self reliant, and dislikes convention and discipline of any kind.
He adds that it goes more by intellect than by intuition, that it is changeable and dependent on impulse, and that it often ends up at the head of something, exercising authority over a number of people. He also notes that the mother plays a large part in the life, and often not an easy one.
